Is Kuala Lumpur hot and humid year-round?
Yes — being close to the equator, KL has no real seasons in temperature terms: daily highs stay around 31-33° and humidity is high year-round. The only real variable is how much and how often it rains.
When's the heaviest rain?
Typically October to December, during the northeast monsoon — sudden, heavy afternoon downpours are common and flash flooding can occur in parts of the city. Rain is usually brief rather than all-day.
Best month for a first trip?
June to August for the driest stretch, or February for a good compromise between drier weather and lower-season prices.
