Frequently asked questions

Can you swim year-round?

No, unlike tropical destinations. The sea drops to 14-15° in winter, far too cold for swimming. It becomes pleasant from June and stays comfortable until late September, peaking around 26° in August.

When is the best time to avoid the crowds?

Mid-May to late June, or early September to mid-October: the climate is already (or still) very pleasant, prices drop noticeably, and the island is far less crowded than at the height of summer.

Should rain be a concern even in summer?

No, June, July and August are the driest months of the year with very little rainfall. Rain mainly falls between October and March, peaking in November.
