Phu Quoc's main town concentrates restaurants, the night market, and the island's longest beach — the ideal home base for a first stay.
20km of sand facing the sunset
The island's longest beach stretches nearly 20km south of Dinh Cau, along Tran Hung Dao street. Most of the island's hotels, restaurants and beach bars are concentrated here — the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail with your feet in the sand.
Seafood & local crafts
Over 100 stalls set up every evening on Bach Dang street: grilled seafood picked straight from the tanks, dried specialities, nuoc mam, sim wine and handmade souvenirs. The atmosphere is easy-going, and prices are open to a friendly bit of haggling.

Khem Beach
The most beautiful beaches on Phu Quoc are down south, near An Thoi — best visited early in the morning to have them almost to yourself.
The couples' beach
Closed to the public for years as a military zone, Khem Beach reopened in 2014, and its water — among the clearest on the island — has made it a favourite with couples. Lined with upscale resorts, its gentle slope also makes for safe swimming.

Guinness World Record
From An Thoi station, this 7,899-metre tricable car — the longest over-sea cable car in the world — links the main island to Hon Thom (Pineapple Island) in a 15-minute ride over the An Thoi archipelago. A guaranteed 360° view over turquoise water and surrounding islets.
A full day on the island
Once on Hon Thom, head to the Aquatopia water park (20+ slides), the rides at Exotica Park, or simply Bai Trao beach. The combined ticket often includes a buffet and access to the attractions — book your return trip in advance, as departures thin out later in the day.

Less developed than the south, the north of the island mixes a great, unspoiled beach with the sprawling Vinpearl complex.
15km of golden sand
Long ranked among the world's most beautiful beaches by National Geographic, Bai Dai stretches for about 15km along the northwest coast. Part of its shoreline, protected by the National Park, remains wild — the rest borders the resorts of the Vinpearl / Grand World complex.
Theme park, safari & casino
The Vinpearl complex brings together Vietnam's largest semi-open safari park (Vinpearl Safari), the country's biggest theme park (VinWonders), and Grand World, a recreated Venetian town with a night market, shows, and the only casino in Vietnam open to local players.

The country's most famous nuoc mam
Phu Quoc owes part of its fame to its nuoc mam, made for generations in huge wooden vats following traditional methods. The Khai Hoan or Phung Hung factories can be visited for free and sell directly to visitors.
The island's green gold
The south of the island grows a pepper prized for its intense aroma — black, white or red depending on ripeness. Plantations like Duc Ninh or Khu Tuong can be visited to see how it's harvested, and to take home a few bags as gifts.
